OverYou

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

OverYou: No Contact & Breakup (“OverYou”, “we”) is an iOS app that helps people keep no contact after a breakup. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: there is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. What you write stays on your iPhone, except the messages you choose to send to the AI coach, which we pass on to generate a reply and do not keep.

1. Data that stays on your iPhone

Your no-contact streak and challenges, check-ins, urges, the drafts you write in Don't Send It, journal entries and the photos you add to them, Evidence notes, stats and reminder settings are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. We never receive them. Journal photos are kept inside the app and are not added to your photo library. Like other app data, they are included in your device or iCloud backup if you have backups turned on, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

The app asks for camera and photo access only when you add a photo to your journal, and for notification permission only for the reminders you turn on. Reminders are scheduled on the device.

2. The AI coach

AI Chat and the advice, rewrite and move-on helpers in Don't Send It are optional, and the app asks for your consent before first use (you can withdraw it in Settings). When you use them:

3. Device key

On first launch the app creates a random key. It is not linked to your name, Apple ID, email or advertising identifier. The app sends it with AI and subscription requests so we can count replies and apply your plan. The server stores only a hash of it.

4. Purchases

Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. When you buy or restore Premium, the app sends the App Store receipt to our server, which checks it with Apple and stores the product, the Apple transaction id and the expiry date so your plan works on your devices.

5. Server logs

Like any web server, ours records technical access logs (such as IP address, time and the endpoint called, never message content) to keep the service secure and working. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify or profile you.

6. What we don't do

We don't sell or share your data for advertising, the app doesn't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and the app doesn't track you across other apps or websites.

7. This website

This website (overyou.app) uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate location and your browser and device type; it is handled by Google under its privacy policy. It applies only to this website, never to the OverYou app. If you visit from the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics is only loaded after you accept it in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of each page. Anywhere else, you can block it with your browser's privacy settings, a content blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on.

8. Launch waitlist

If you enter your email in a "Notify me" form on this website, we store that address, the page you signed up on, your approximate country (from our network provider, Cloudflare) and the date. We use it only to send you one email when OverYou is available on the App Store, and we never share or sell it. To be removed at any time, email us and we will delete it. We delete the list once launch emails have been sent.

9. Children

OverYou is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Your choices and rights

You can stop using the AI coach at any time, and deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA) you may have rights to access or delete data about you. Because we don't hold your content, the only records we have are the hashed device key, reply counts and subscription records; email us and we will delete them.

11. Changes and contact

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above. Questions: [email protected].
